Anyone who likes to cook knows quite well that good kitchen tools are essential for preparing tasty meals quickly and easily. And, like in any other area, good tools come at a certain price.

To illustrate this, let’s consider equipment used for cutting. Japanese chef’s knives are ones of the most expensive in the world, with their prices easily extending up to a thousand dollars and even more. Why is that so?

The answer to this question is simple but also a bit complicated at the same time. Modern automation technology can easily produce thousands of items in a few hours or even in several minutes, making production costs go down to minimum. But this is also the reason why traditional craftsmanship and hand-made products are still valued in our society, despite all possible technological advances.
