Monster Hunter Rise Okami Collaboration Coming July 30th
Monster Hunter Rise is getting an Okami crossover. In just a couple of days, you’ll be able to get an adorable Amaterasu costume for your Palamute, complete with Issun hopping around. It’s the second in the “Capcom Collab” series of crossover content for Monster Hunter Rise.
What’s coming in the Monster Hunter Rise Okami crossover?
Capcom announced this news via the official Monster Hunter Twitter account earlier today. The collaboration will launch this coming Friday and will consist of an Amaterasu (or “Ammy”) layered armor set for your Palamute. When your canine companion wears the costume, they’ll look just like Ammy, complete with celestial weaponry, Okami-style attack animations, and wandering insect artist Issun hopping around next to them. You can check out the official trailer for the collab – which has some breathtakingly beautiful Okami footage too – right here.
The collaboration is an event quest reward, so you’ll receive the layered armor after completing that quest (which will be available on July 30th, just like the armor itself). It’ll be completely free, so you won’t need to spend anything to obtain it. What’s more, it’s cute as heck, and it should serve to remind you just how great a game Okami is. Hopefully, future Capcom Collab content crossovers will be just as fun as this one.
What else is coming to Monster Hunter Rise?
It’s a good time to be a hunter in Kamura Village right now, especially if you’re a pupper fan. Last week, the devs added a brand new Palamute companion in the form of Wanogre, a “special Palamute from the Monster Hunter Rise dev team”. If you want to grab that one, speak with Senri the Mailman, then visit Buddy Handler Iori to avail yourself of Wanogre’s services. Who’s a good Palamute? Wanogre is, obviously.
There’s plenty more coming to Monster Hunter Rise in the future, too. In addition to some DLC dropping in just a couple of days, there are three more Capcom Collabs on the way as well. The first Capcom Collab saw Rise teaming up with turn-based RPG sister game Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, and Okami marks the second. We’ll find out what Capcom Collab 3 has in store next month, while Collabs 4 and 5 are due this fall. You’re also getting a new event quest every single week, so it’s hard not to feel spoiled if you’re a Monster Hunter fan.
