Little Nightmares 2 Enhanced Edition Sneaks Out Now
Bandai Namco has announced Little Nightmares 2 Enhanced Edition, and it’s already available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Thankfully, if you already own the game on PS4 or Xbox One you can upgrade free of charge. Those who own the PC version will be able to upgrade via a patch.
Interestingly, instead of Tarsier Studios (the original developer) developing Little Nightmares 2 Enhanced Edition, Supermassive Games have developed the next-generation version of the game. In it, two modes will be available: a Performance mode at 4K and 60 FPS, and a Beauty mode at 4K with a dynamic resolution and 30 FPS.
Little Nightmares 2 has sold over 2 million units since release in February this year, so it makes sense that Little Nightmares 2 Enhanced Edition is coming out so quickly. If the people like it and it’s sold well, why not give it a graphic polishing, add a few things here and there, and re-launch it? Makes sense to me.
Anyways, the game will also have ray-traced reflections, which means that any shiny surface will give off a reflection for players. Volumetric shadows’ resolution has been increased–which are light rays disturbed by objects and characters moving in front of a strong light source. Interactive particles are now much more frequent, and are “dynamically affected by Mono, Six and the main antagonists” to help create a more realistic and immersive overall gaming experience.
Last but not least is Immersive Audio, which means that the game has a new 3D soundscape mix that’s more immersive. If you have a 5.1 or 7.1 audio system/headphones your ears will thank you for it.
