Life is Strange: True Colors Delay For Switch Edition
After announcing a Life is Strange Remastered Collection delay yesterday, and reassuring everyone that Life is Strange: True Colors would still release on September 10th, Square Enix took to Twitter to make another announcement. This time, the next game in the series wasn’t spared from the many delays striking games in 2021, as they announced a Life is Strange: True Colors delay for Nintendo Switch.
It looks like this ‘on time’ announcement wasn’t meant to last though as less than 24 hours later there was an update. While on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Stadia Life is Strange: True Colors delay will not affect them, the Nintendo Switch build has been pushed back to sometime this year. They made the announcement of the delay in a reply to the previous announcement and provided no reason for the new delay. See for yourself with the announcement:
Additionally, Life is Strange: True Colors for Nintendo Switch is running a little late.
We won’t be quite ready to release on September 10 – but we still plan to release this year.
Please watch our channels for a confirmed date over the coming weeks!
Given the mention of this year, one imagines we are talking weeks, upwards of 10 or 12, and not days on lateness here with Life is Strange: True Colors Nintendo Switch release date. This also may mean that the Life is Strange: Wavelengths release date on Nintendo Switch will be delayed as the DLC is set to release September 30th, as a standalone prequel DLC. There is no specific mention of it, but the way this delay was handled, as well as it running in the same engine as True Colors raise questions if it will hit that release date on Switch. Much like the Life is Strange: True Colors release date in yesterday’s announcement, no platforms were listed for Wavelengths so it would be consistent with this delay if it were to occur.
When is the Life is Strange: True Colors Delay until?
Life is Strange: True Colors is releasing September 10th for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Stadia. Life is Strange: True Colors release date for Nintendo Switch is unknown but is expected to be this year.
Given the announcement yesterday of the Life is Strange Remastered Collection delay, the fact that this delay was announced almost 20 hours later, in a reply to the thread feels like they are trying to bury it. It feels somewhat deceitful with the way it was announced, and that they don’t want anyone paying attention to it. It left a bad taste in my mouth. For those looking forward to the game on Switch, hopefully, the delay is minimal and you can enjoy it not much after everyone else.
