Gamescom Indie Arena Booth Returns as MMORPG Digital Event| TechRaptor
Gamescom, an annual video game showcase based in Germany, is bringing back their Indie Arena Booth to give players across the globe the opportunity to try out some games. This year, the Booth will be presented in an MMORPG-like experience that will let players explore a variety of zones and interact with developers.
In a press release sent out today, Gamescom announced that over 120 of the best upcoming indie games will be present at Summercamp of Doom, complete with quests, loot, levels, and the opportunity to meet the developers of these games. A full list of the games can be found here, but some of the highlights include the colony building game Going Medieval, the Mafia-esque multiplayer game Eville, the charming Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator, and the gritty and gross old-school RPG Death Trash. In addition to Summercamp of Doom, Gamescom will feature a packed schedule featuring indie publishers like Finji Games, Tiny Build, Ravens Court, and others offering looks at their latest and upcoming titles.
Super Crowd, the company behind gamified events such as the Indie Arena Booth, said that Summercamp of Doom offers another venue of discovery for indie games. “Due to our extended partnership with Gamescom and a stronger curated line up of games, we think Indie Arena Booth Online will once again be the digital go-to event this year for the Best Indie games in 2021”, said Wolf Lang, CEO at Super Crowd. Meanwhile, Rebekah Saltsman, the CEO of Finji Games, said that even before the pandemic, they liked that Gamescom helped them bring their North American games to a European audience. “We are super excited to participate in the online event again in 2021 with both the online demos of our games and our additional streaming content.”
The Gamescom Indie Arena Booth runs from August 25 to 29 in Cologne, Germany. You can learn more about the event at their website.
