Fiber-based 3D formable container/packaging | Technology Org

Philips Morris International (PMI) is looking for a way to produce fibre-based 3D formable packages with high design freedom including shapes and graphic/visual effects.

In particular, the Seeker is looking for technologies and materials that enable the manufacture of complex geometries with straight sidewalls (no-slant), the possibility to have undercuts and/or embossing and textured patterns among others. Ideally, the surface allows for high-quality printing.

In addition, they are interested in understanding technologies/processes that could add barrier properties to the final package (moisture and oxygen) without affecting its recyclability.

Submissions to this Challenge must be received by Aug 31. 2021.
