Biomutant Mekton Wrekbox Location Guide
Our Biomutant Mekton Wrekbox Location Guide is here to help you find all 14 boxes for customizing your Mekton, what to watch out for, and other cool things you can get near each box!
What is a Mekton Wrekbox?
A “Mekton Wrekbox” is a box filled with customization parts for your Mekto, a pilotable mech in Biomutant that you can unlock by completing two quests: “The Recyclopedian” and “Skronk Salvage.”
One important takeaway from our Biomutant Mekton Wrekbox Location Guide is that the contents of these boxes aren’t like other loot chests. Mekton parts won’t improve your stats or your defense; rather, these are purely for customizing the look of your Mekton.
Biomutant Mekton Wrekbox Location Guide for All 14 Boxes
There are a total of 14 Mekton Wrekbox locations. The first one is pretty easy to get since it’s right outside of the location where you get your Mekton, but the boxes after that are a little more challenging.
Unlike some open-world games, Biomutant will actually give you the location of the boxes with map markers. You don’t have to get the boxes in this order, though — you can pick them up in any order you’d like.
1. The Recyclopedian Quest & Skronk Salvage Quest – Leftovers Mekton Wrekbox Location
The first Mekton Wrekbox is right outside of the Chugyard. You’ll first have to complete “The Recyclopedian” quest which involves going to the Chugyard, defeating some enemies, and finding Gizmo. After that, he’ll give you the “Skronk Salvage” quest to find your first Mekton Wrekbox.
Getting to the first Mekton Wrekbox is pretty straightforward — you’ll head outside of the Chugyard into the “Deadzone,” an area with low oxygen. You can’t survive for very long in low-oxygen zones, so you’ll have to hustle.
Run outside and into a small cave to the right. This will take you into an apartment building that doesn’t drain your oxygen. Go up to the second floor and you’ll see your goal: you’ll have to balance along a tightrope towards a truck, then turn right and jump inside another building. Grab your first Mekton Wrekbox and that will start the quest to get the rest of them.
2. Munchhouse 6C Mekton Wrekbox Location
The Munchhouse 6C Mekton Wrekbox location is pretty straightforward — the box is out in the open in a diner parking lot. Unfortunately, you’ll have to fight a few enemies before you can loot anything. Make sure to head into the diner before you leave — there’s good loot to be found inside!
3. Citiscenario Mekton Wrekbox Location
The Citiscenario Mekton Wrekbox location is out in the middle of the Deadzone — that means you’re not going to have any safe places to recover your oxygen. You’ll also have to deal with some enemies in the immediate area — deal with them in your Mekton, then dismount to explore.
In addition to the Mekton Wrekbox, there is also a fair amount of loot in the area. This includes a Bioblob Container on top of one of the wrecked buildings; use the awnings on the outside to get up on top to claim it for yourself.
4. Bangshelter 7B Mekton Wrekbox Location
The next step in our Biomutant Mekton Wrekbox Location Guide heads underground — the Bangshelter 7B Mekton Wreckbox location is basically inside a bomb shelter. You’ll have some enemies to clear out once you head inside, but the rest of the building is free from enemies. Although there are no enemies to worry about, you’ll definitely want to explore Bangshelter 7B. I found some excellent loot within the complex.
5. Brickbrack 7B Mekton Wrekbox Location
The Brickbrack 7B Mekton Wrekbox location is a little different than what we’ve covered so far — this is the first box in our Biomutant Mekton Wrekbox Location guide where you’ll have to get out of your Mekton for an extended period of time. Thankfully, this location is not a low-oxygen area, so at least you don’t have to worry about that.
What you do have to worry about, however, is a bunch of enemies. You’ll have a tough fight out front and there are even more enemies behind the building. Be especially careful with the enemies behind Brickbrack 7B as you can easily get knocked into the oil and drown.
Once you’ve secured the area, you can easily find the box on the first floor of the building. You’re definitely going to want to explore this location — there is an “Old World Bodyshaper” in a side room that can permanently increase your stats. There is also good loot in the roof, but you’ll have to navigate a jumping puzzle to get up there.
There are other interesting things in the surrounding area, too. As you can see on the map, there is a town and a Pewpew Merchant to the Southeast of the location; you can also find a Biopoint in some trash piles in the area.
6. Shopperia 7A Mekton Wrekbox Location
The Shopperia 7A Mekton Wrekbox location is also on the upper plateau outside of the Deadzone so you’re going to be on foot again. There will be a miniboss fight in the immediate area and some loot in the first floor of a nearby building, but this is otherwise a pretty straightforward pick. Be sure to head West to a different Citiscenario — there are some enemies and loot that you can pick up pretty easily.
7. Holesome Mekton Wrekbox Location
The Holesome Mekton Wrekbox location is a troublesome one. The map marker might make you think that it’s aboveground, but it’s actually underground. See that beam of light below Holesome on the map in the image above? That’s where you need to go. Thankfully, you have two ways to get there:
Getting the Holesome Mekton Wrekbox from the Surface
- Look around “Plank-Place” for a ruined building with an elevator. This will take you into Holesome.
- Work your way downstairs, looting and moving as you go.
- Get the Holesome Mekton Wrekbox in the big open area.
- Search the trash pile nearby.
- Open the side door to get some good loot.
Getting the Holesome Mekton Wrekbox from Underground
- Get the Mekton Wrekbox in the big open area.
- Search the trash pile nearby.
- Open the side door to get some good loot.
- Work your way upstairs, looting and moving as you go.
- Take the elevator up to get to the surface near the Plank-Place.
8. The Grottu Mekton Wrekbox Location
The Grottu Mekton Wrekbox location is another troublesome entry in this Biomutant Mekton Wrekbox Location Guide — much like Holesome, it’s actually underground in a cave. You can enter the cave from either the North or the South. You’ll find some particularly tough Level 15 enemies inside and a bit of loot; otherwise, you can find the Mekton Wrekbox at the back of the cave.
9. Bionucleus 8C Mekton Wrekbox Location #1
The Bionucleus 8C Mekton Wrekbox location is out on an open road. That wouldn’t be too hard to deal with if it weren’t for the fact that the entire area is irradiated; once the radiation builds up, your health will start going down slowly.
If you don’t have radiation protection (and you probably won’t if you get the Mekton early), you shouldn’t attempt to retrieve this box unless you have a few health-restoring items on you. Travel to the Mekton dock north of Bionucleus 8C from the outside, climb up, and then quickly run past the enemies that spawn there. You’ll find the Mekton Wrekbox at the red and blue dot indicated on the map.
10. Bionucleus 8C Mekton Wrekbox Location #2
Another first in this Biomutant Mekton Wrekbox Location Guide — this particular box is in an unmarked location to the east of Bionucleus 8C sitting in some ruins — you’ll find it at the red and blue dot on the minimap above. There’s only one other item of note in this area: a truck that you can’t open without an upgraded Klawbar. Attempt to open the truck and you’ll trigger the quest if you haven’t already.
11. Brickbrack 7C Mekton Wrekbox Location
The Brickbrack 7c Mekton Wrekbox location — not to be confused with Brickbrack 7B, mind — is as straightforward as it gets: you’ll find the box inside of the building. There is no other notable loot in the immediate area.
12. Shop-Shop 8B Mekton Wrekbox Location
The Shop-Shop 8B Mekton Wrekbox location is much more challenging than most of the other entries in our Biomutant Mekton Wreckbox Location Guide. There are no major environmental hazards or anything like that, but you’ll have to fight a veritable army of enemies out in the parking lot. There’s another smaller group of enemies out back. Once they’re all defeated, you can find some neat loot on the first and second floors of the building.
13. Pokburr Mekton Wrekbox Location #1
The Pokburr Mekton Wrekbox location will take you all the way to the Surfipelago region — that’s on the other side of the map! This box is Southeast of the village of Pokburr — if it’s your first time arriving there, you’ll be surprised to find that the village is under attack. You can pick up the “It Takes a Village” quest here; otherwise, you can head southeast to get the box and come back for the quest later.
This area also has the opportunity to score a new mount by completing the “Meat Eater” quest. You’ll have to face off against the same creature who killed your mother. You won’t defeat it here and now, but you can get a pretty cool mount if you win the fight.
14. Fluff Hulk Nest Mekton Wrekbox Location #2
The Fluff Hulk Nest Mekton Wrekbox location is the final entry on the list and also in the Surfipelago region. You’ll pass through Tribe FalloutLine 3E along the way where a big battle is going on; you can choose to help out your allies or bypass it entirely. Your final destination will have you potentially facing off against a Fluff Hulk; Defeat it, and you’ll get Monster Key 3E for the Old World Storages quest.
